Hearing Loss is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions in the United States, affecting about 27 million people most of them over the age of 65. In fact, it is the 3rd most chronic healthcare condition following arthritis and high blood pressure. Unfortunately, only 20% of those who are hearing impaired, actually seek assistance. Studies have shown, the most recent one released by the National Council on Aging and the Hearing Industries Association, that there is a relationship between hearing loss and quality of life. Specifically, those who use hearing aids cite better family relationships and improved mental health than those who are left untreated.
